Project history: Ex-Austro-Hungarian cruiser, transferred as war reparation.

Ship protection: 60mm belt closed machinery spaces only and was connected with flat 20mm deck by top. Guns had 40mm shields.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Thionville was used as gunnery and torpedo TS, stricken in 1932 and served as accommodation hulk till 1941.
