Project history: 2nd class corvette, iron hull. Steam machinery carried only auxiliary function. Brig-rigged. Reclassified as 1st class screw corvette in 1856 and 1st class aviso in 1859.

Modernizations: 1855: boilers were replaced by 4 water-tube ones, new high-pressure engine (200nhp).

1857: boilers were replaced by fire-tube.

Naval service: No significant events.
