Project history: Korea-Tacoma design, improved version of LST Mk 2. All were delivered to Venezuela without armament in October 1984 (first two), December 1984 and early in 1985 and became fully operational late.

Modernizations: 2011, Capana, Esequibo, Goajira; 2013, Los Llanos: - 2 x 1 - 20/90; + nav. radar (2nd)

Naval service: Goajira was heavily damaged by fire in June 1987 and was restored to service only in May 1993.
