Project history: Authorized under the Act of 3.3.1885. Originally rigged as a barquentine with no head gear, the mainmast was later removed. Main guns were mounted in sponsons between the forecastle and poop.

1911: - 4 x 1 - 152/35; + 4 x 1 - 102/40 Mk III/IV/V/VI
