Project history: These were repeat Pauldings authorized in March 1909 (DD32-36) and June 1910. All but the Walke (DD34) had triple screws; six (DD 32, 34,36,37, 39, 40) had three funnels. The remaining units (Bath and New York Shipbuilding) all had four funnels.

Modernizations: 1915, Henley: Curtis steam turbines were replaced by 3 sets Westinghouse geared steam turbines (13000hp)

1917 - 1918, all: + 1 DCT (Y-gun), 2 DCR

Naval service: No significant events.
