Project history: Former Soviet Black Fleet project 641 submarine.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Zaporizhzhia entered dock for repair just after transfer and was re-commissioned only in June 2013. 21.3.2014 at Sevastopol during capture of submarine by Russian troops most of the crew decided to serve in Russian Navy and raised Russian Flag. Absolutely obsolete submarine never entered to Russian Navy and Russian Government invited Ukraine to take the submarine back, but later, when Ukraine initiated civil war in Donbass, Russian Naval Staff announced that Ukrainian ships will be returned when war in Donbass ends.
