Project history: Repetition of boats of "Ò" class of 1940 Programme with increased endurance. Ballast tanks, adopted to stow an additional fuel were welded. Full displacement with maximal fuel stowage was 1440t. Ships of 2nd group had welded pressure hull at the expense of what an operational diving depth was increased to 110m.

Order for 5 more subs was cancelled at the end of war.

1951 - 1956, "T Conversion", as follows: Hull and casing were streamlined, all external TT and guns were removed. Submerged power was doubled and battery capacity was increased.
