Project history: Development of Egret class but by 2m longer, faster and with the changed armament structure: quadruple pompom was installed instead of one 102mm mount. Besides, first two ships built under 1937 Programme (Black Swan and Erne), had minesweeping equipment but it was not installed on subsequent ships.

Naval service: Ibis was sunk by Italian air torpedo at Algiers 10.11.1942.
