Project history: Iron-hulled 2nd class gunvessel, Sir William Symonds design, approved in 1845. Half-sister to wooden Teazer. In 1846 Minx received 234ihp 2-cyl VSE, oscillating, giving her 9.1kts speed but in 1849, before the completion, it was replaced by much weaker HSE.
