Project history: Built under 1885-86 Programme. By late 1887 Lizard, Rattler and Wasp (but not Bramble) were reclassed as gunvessels.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Wasp believed foundered with all hands after leaving Singapore for Shanghai 10.9.1887.
