Project history: Design was developed on the basis of a civil trawler Gulfoss built in 1929. ASW trawlers. Corncrake and Redshank were completed as controlled minelayers.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Herring was lost 22.4.1943 as a result of collision with s/s Cassard. Corncrake was lost in Atlantic during a storm 25.1.1943.
