Project history: Faster version of Guardian. 102mm gun was single-purpose.
Modernizations: circa 1945: - 1 x 1 - 102/45; + 1 x 2 - 102/45 QF Mk XVI, 7 - 20/70 Oerlikon Mk II/IV, radar
1955: - nets; + 2 helicopters (Whirlwind).
Naval service: Protector was damaged by airborne torpedo 11.8.1941 and commissioned again only in 1945. She was used as Antarctic patrol ship in 1955 - 1968.
