Project history: Ordered at the same time and to much the same basic concept as the Thornycroft boats, the Yarrow 125ft design differed in having a better-designed ram bow and so did not have to be rebuilt.

Modernizations: 1901-08, all survived: were reboilered with water-tube boilers

1915-1917, many: - 2 x 1 - 25/40; + 1 x 1 - 47/40 3pdr Hotchkiss Mk I, DCR

Naval service: TB75 was lost in collision in 1892; most of the rest were reboilered in the first decade of the twentieth century. Many boats served during the war as patrol boats, and TB064 was wrecked in 1915.
