Project history: Former container ships, requisitioned by MoD and used as aircraft support ships. Aircraft was based on deck and all aircraft equipment was stowed in containers.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Atlantic Conveyor was attacked 25.5.1982 in 90nm NE of Port Stanley (Falklands) by two Argentine Super Etendard fighter-bombers, one AM39 Exoset ASM hit the ships. Atlantic Conveyor sunk 28.5.1982 under tow.
