Project history: 18pdr frigates, 38 guns (fifth rate), reclassed as 46-gun in 1817. Designed to the lines of the Hebe, a French prize taken in 1782.

Modernizations: 1846, Amphitrite, 1847, Trincomalee: were cut down to 26-gun corvettes and armed with: 10 x 1 - 204/13 8'' 65cwt shell SBML, 2 x 1 - 194/16 56pdr 87cwt SBML, 8 x 1 - 163/18 32pdr 56cwt SBML, 4 x 1 - 159/8 32pdr carronades, complement 240

Naval service: Leda wrecked at the entrance to Milford Haven 31.1.1808. Pomone wrecked on the Needles 14.10.1811. Diamond accidentally burnt at Portsmouth 18.2.1827. Thetis wrecked 5.12.1830 off Cape Frio, Brazil.
