Project history: 58-gun 4th rate 24pdr frigate but completed with 50 guns only. Begun as a 50-gun two-decker of the Salisbury or modified Jupiter class but redesigned while building with 3.4m lengthening and cut down to a spar-deck frigate.

Modernizations: 1839: was armed with 2 x 1 - 204/13 68pdr shell SBML, 42 x 1 - 162/17 32pdr SBML

Naval service: No significant events.
