Project history: Ordered in September 1984 as a replacement for the LSL damaged in 1982 and subsequently sunk as a war grave off Port Stanley. There were many improvements over the original design, including enlarged helicopter deck, better firefighting and steel bridge, as well as greater capacity. One 25t and two 8.6t cranes. There were bow ramp with a visor-type one-piece door and a stern vehicle ramp. Four Mexiflote pontoons can be stowed on the hull sides.
Modernizations: early 1990s: - 2 x 1 - 40/60, 1 x 1 - 20/90, type 1006 radar; + type 1007 radar, type 182 torpedo decoy
2000: - 2 x 1 - 20/90
Naval service: No significant events.
