Project history: Small craft built in 1906 for customs' survey duties and the suppression of smuggling in the Red Sea.

Naval service: Kastamonu was sunk 7.1.1912 in the Red Sea action at Konfida by Italian cruiser Piemonte and destroyer Artigliere. Yozgat was sunk 10.12.1915 off the Kirpen Islands by Russian destroyers.
