Project history: Former German barbette battleships Weißenburg and Kurfürst Friedrich Wilhelm, bought 5.8.1910. In 1911 maximum speed of Torgud Reiss was only 10kts.

Ship protection: Protection consisted of Nickel (Harvey) steel on Torgud Reis and compound on Barbaros Hayreddin made by Krupp. Narrow main belt (400mm between end barbettes, tapering to 200mm at lower edge, 300m at ship ends, tapering to 180mm at lower edge) was extended at all hull length. 60mm main deck was connected by 65mm slopes with lower edge of main belt. Barbettes of main guns had 300mm thickness everywhere, gun houses had 120mm faces, sides and rears and 50mm roofs. Casemates of 105mm guns had 42mm protection. Fore CT had 300mm sides and 30mm roof, aft CT had 120mm sides and 30mm CT.

Modernizations: 1912, both: - 2 x 1 - 88/27, 2 - 450 TT (beam)

1916, Torgud Reis: - 6 x 1 - 105/32

1927, Torgud Reis: - 4 x 1 - 88/27, 1 - 450 TT (bow)

Naval service: Barbaros Haireddin was sunk by British submarine E11 in sea of Marmara 8.8.1915. Torgud Reiss 30.10.1918 was laid up into reserve. Later she served as training hulk. She was stricken in 1933, but broken up only in 1950-1956.
