Project history: Originally ordered by the USA as a part of a NATO order in France, where a whole series of this type was built. Belonging to the La Fougueux class she was commissioned in 1955 by the USN together with a sister ship and was given the pennant number P1618. Taken over by Germany in 1957, she was commissioned as Type 179 and was used as training boat for the underwater weapons school. Bought by Tunisia 16.6.1970 after transfer in December 1969.

 

Modernizations: mid-1970: - 1 x 24 - 178 Hedgehog ASWRL, 4 DCT

 

Naval service: No significant events.
