Project history: Small coastal submarines with strong torpedo armament, built in Japan under the 1935 programme. They were designed by Mitsubishi on the basis of Schneider-Laubeuf design. Vilun, Sinsamudar and Blajunbol in some sources are written as Wirun, Sinsamut and Plai Chumpol. The 1938 programme included building of 4 additional boats of this class, however subsequently they were cancelled, and new submarines were never laid down.
