Project history: Former USN LSM type medium landing ships.
Modernizations: 1960s, Mei He: - landing capacity; + mines
1990s, all survived: - SO radar; + 1 x 2 - 40/60 Mk 1, 4 x 1 - 12.7/90, CS/UPS-60X radar; superstructure was enlarged
Naval service: Mei Le was sunk by Chinese coastal artillery in September 1958. Mei Hua collided 16.6.1969 with m/s Ta Tung and sunk.
