Project history: Former USN Newport class tank landing ships. Transferred 18.4.1997 and formally commissioned by ROCN 8.5.1998. Offer of Newport was turned doen in 1997 and offer of Schenectady was rejected in 2000.

Modernizations: 1998, both: - 2 x 2 - 76/50; + 2 x 2 - 40/60 Mk 1, 2x Mk 36 SRBOC decoy RL

2010s, both: - 2x Mk 36 SRBOC decoy RL; + SLQ-3 ECM suite (WD-2A + Chang Feng IV), 4x CR-201 decoy RL

Naval service: No significant events.
