Project history: Former USN destroyers of Benson (DD14, 15) and Gleaves (DD17) classes. Lo Yang and Han Yang were presented to Taiwan. Hsien Yang and Nan Yang were transferred on loan from the USN. In addition the ex-Japanese destroyers Hatakaze and Asakase were transferred to Taiwan in August 1970 to provide spares for the first four.

Naval service: No significant events.
