Project history: Soviet Project 183R craft, three boats were transferred in 1974 to compensate losses.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: No42 ran aground off Latakia 6.10.1973 and was destroyed by Israeli fast attack craft (missile) Miznag, No43 was hit by missile from Israeli FAC and ran aground near Tartous 11.10.1973. No44 was sunk by Israeli FAC Miznag 6.10.1973 off Latakia.
