Project history: The design was developed on the basis of purchased in March, 1940 in Italy Spica class torpedo boats. Changes were brought basically to replacement of Italian equipment and armament by Swedish, and also to insignificant increase in a hull beam for improvement of seagoing capacities.
Modernizations: 1954-1955, all: - 1 x 1 - 105/50, 1 x 3 - 533 TT; + 1 x 3 - 305 Squid Mk 4 ASWRL, radars, sonar
Naval service: All ships were re-rated as frigates in 1954-1955.
