Project history: Bought in France under the royal decree from 6.5.1924 as fisheries protection ships. Class of these ships is not known, possibly, these are former fishing boats gained by France in Great Britain during the First World War. In all references 150t displacement is given, but more real is 150BRT capacity. All were submitted to Shipping and fishery ministry, but were crewed by Navy.
Modernizations: 1920s-1930s, all: - 1 x 1 - 42/42; + 1 x 1 - 76/50 Vickers Mk TR or 1 x 1 - 57/42 Nordenfelt
Naval service: To 1936
Contramaestre Castelló and Fogonero Bañobre were used as TSs.
After beginning of Civil war six ships passed to Nationalists, and Marinero
Cante and Torpedista Hernández remained under Republican control.
Former was scuttled by crew 30.10.1936 at Rosas at attempt of capture
by Nationalists cruiser Canarias, latter in the end of war was scuttled
at Portman near Cartagena. She was salvaged and broken up.
