Project history: Largest and perfect patrol boats of "Tabacalera" of "inspector" type.
Modernizations: All boats were armed only in 1936.
Naval service: After the beginning of Civil war I1 remained at disposal of carabinieres, remaining five were transferred to Republican fleet. I5 was sunk 6.10.1936 in strait of Gibraltar by Nationalists cruiser Almirante Cervera. I2 and I4 were scuttled at fall of Malaga 7.2.1937, salvaged by Nationalists and in April, 1937 were commissioned by them as minesweepers. I1 in April, 1938 was transferred to carabinieres and renamed MNF525. In January-February, 1939 all three escaped Republican ships left Catalonia to France where they were interned, later all were returned to Spain. In 1939 all survived ships were returned to Tobacco Monopoly. In 1940 I2, 4 and I6 were again mobilized and served under Naval flag till 1947-1948. I4 foundered at Ribadeo 9.6.1957, but later she was salvaged.
