Project history: Good Hope and Transvaal were originally built for South Africa under French A69 project, but delivery was embargoed in September 1978. They were purchased by Argentina on 25 September 1978. They were originally ordered for the French Navy as Lieutenant de Vaisseau le Henaff and Commandant I'Herminier.
