Project history: Designed to operate from the TCDs of the Foudre class, the EDIC 700 (Engins de Débarquement Infanterie Chars, 700t) was essentially an improved EDIC. The wheel-house can be lowered to facilitate docking. Karabene was ordered by Senegalaise Navy in 1985, Gorée was transferred to Senegal after service under French flag.

Naval service: No significant events.
