Project history: In the 1916 Submarine Programme, designated for the Black Sea Fleet. Fiat design 176-bis, double hull type, 7 watertight compartments. Ordered in 1916 and construction of the first 4 begun 1916-17 but abandoned after the Bolshevik Revolution.
