Project history: The basic requirements to small submarine which working out has begun in III five-years period, were installation of the second shaft and increasing twice of a torpedo salvo. Displacement growth on 35% became a payment. The saddle-tank construction with demountable bulges has been applied to preserve of possibility of transportation by rail. The stability was improved, surfaced speed has grown on 1.5kts, and diving depth on 10m. Project of XV series was approved 23.7.1939.
Modernizations: 1957, all survived: - 1 x 1 - 45/46.
Naval service: M-200 Mest' collided 12.8.1956 with destroyer Statnyy at Tallin and sunk with all hands, salvaged 21.11.1956 and used as training hulk till 1958.
