Project history: Design of I. G. Bubnov. Single-hulled, without watertight bulkheads, development of Akula. Under original design it was supposed to equip them with 2 1140hp diesels, that should ensure 19kts surface speed. However it was necessary to install diesels removed from Amur flotilla gunboats.
Modernizations: 1917, Tyulen': - 8 - 450 TC; + 1 x 1 - 37/20 Hotchkiss, 4 - 450 TT (ext)
1923, Politruk: - 1 x 1 - 57/40, 1 x 1 - 47/40, 8 - 450 TC; + 2 x 1 - 75/48 Canet
Naval service: Morzh was lost in Black Sea 11-15.5.1917 for unknown cause. Tyulen' was withdrawn by Whites to Bizerte where she was broken up in mid-1930s. Nerpa entered service with Red Navy, but was stricken on technical condition.
