Project history: Former Polish river monitors of Warszawa class. All were scuttled by crews 18.9.1939 on the river Pripyat; later salvaged by Soviet wreckers, repaired at Pinsk, rearmed and commissioned by Red Navy.

Ship protection: Only bulletproof protection.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Vinnitsa 15.7.1941 in battle against German field artillery on Berezina received damage and ran ashore off Parichi where 16.7.1941 she was destroyed by crew. Vitebsk 18.9.1941 was blown up by crew near Kiev. Bobruysk 31.8.941 was damaged in battle against German field artillery and after expending of ammunition was blown up by crew at settlement Okuninovo on Dnepr. Zhitomir 1.9.1941 ran ashore at settlement Cherni on Dnepr and was blown up by crew 7.9.1941.
