Project history: Former Polish river monitor Krakow. 21.9.1939 she was scuttled by crew in Dnepr-Bug canal; salvaged by Soviet wreckers, repaired at Pinsk, rearmed and commissioned by Red Navy.

Naval service: Smolensk 12.9.1941 was blown up by crew on river Desna near Chernigov.
