Project history: Flat-bottomed ships with fine bow lines and originally brig-rigged. The 229mm was mounted as a bow chaser with 36° training on either side and the 152mm right aft with a total arc of 270°. They were later given three masts.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: Sivuch was blown up by own crew on Liao river near Sanchahe 2.8.1904 to avoid capture by Japanese. Bobr was 2.11.1904 badly damaged by shells of Japanese field guns in Port Arthur harbour, disarmed and demolished by own crew and finally sank 26.12.1904 by Japanese field guns.
