Project history: Icebreaking guard ship intended originally for Board Guard and laid down under project 52. After beginning of Great Patriotic war construction was suspended and restarted only in 1951 under redesigned project 52K. Ship can get over 30-40cm-thick ice (maximally 50-70cm).

Modernizations: 1960s: - Tamir-5N sonar; + MG-11 sonar

Naval service: No significant events.
