Project history: Escorts (Kaibo Kan) of A type were built under 3rd Supplementary program of 1937. Prototype of all subsequent Japanese escorts. 4 more ships of this class were provided by the program of 1942 (Nos 790-793), but work on them did not start.

Naval service: Japanese escort, transferred by reparations.
