Project history: Built under the project of Vulcan. They had bad seagoing capacities and low endurance. Rated as torpedo cruisers, since September, 1907 as destroyers.

Naval service: Kazanets was torpedoed by German submarine UC27 and sank at island Vormsi (Gulf of Finland) 28.10.1916. Steregushchiy, Strashny, Donskoy Kazak and Zabaykalets in 1918 because of bad technical condition were laid up.
