Project history: A two-funnelled, two-masted ship with a ram bow and the fore funnel and mast well forward.There were five fixed TT, two right ahead, one on each bow and one in the stern, and in addition two trainable broadside TT. 16 torpedoes, 5m long, were stowed in racks on the lower deck with suitable gear for bringing them under a tramway which ran the whole length of the ship to the rear of each tube.

Ship protection: There was 19-13mm protective deck.

Modernizations: 1907: - 2 x 1 - 47/40, 6 x 5 - 47/22, 6 x 5 - 37/17, 2 x 1 - 381 TT; + 10 x 1 - 37/20 Hotchkiss

Naval service: No significant events.
