Project history: Designed in 1934 under guidance of Yu. Yu. Benua. Smaller variant of project 1124 with one tank turret instead of two and single-shaft machinery. Also basic armament was similarly varied. Boats could be equipped by 3 single 7.62mm MGs in individual cupolas, either 2 single or twin 12.7mm MGs. In days of war part of boats was armed by 1 octuple 82mm rocket launcher instead of aft MG.
Ship protection: Hull and CT had bullet-proof protection, guns placed in standard tank turrets. 76/30mm 8K guns were on open mounts without shields.
Modernizations: Many boats were re-armed by various schemes, mostly as presented in the table.
Naval service: No215 was captured by Finnish boats 23.8.1941, commissioned them as VTV1 but returned to Soviet Navy in December 1944 and renamed BK-60.
