Project history: Former small Austro-Hungarian minelayer Basilisk, built at Trieste in 1909. In 1919 she was transferred to France and renamed Aurore. In 1922 she was transferred by Frenchmen to Romania, commissioned as Aurora. In 1929 Aurora wes transferred to Romanian ship company Societatea Romana Dunareana (SRD), in 1937 rebuilt at Galatz. In 1939 Aurora was mobilised and again commissioned by Romanian Navy.

Naval service: 28.6.1941 Aurora was hard damaged by Soviet aircrafts at Sulina, put into repair at where 15.7.1941 was ultimately destroyed by Soviet aircraft.
