Project history: On trials ship reached 22.15kts speed, but in days of WWI could make no more than 19kts. Nevertheless, she was unique rigorous Portuguese cruiser. In 1918 she was put on major refit and modernization, but this modernization was never completed.

Ship protection: 37mm main deck with 110mm slopes protected machinery. CT had 102mm sides.

Modernizations: 1900s: - 2 x 1 - 47/40, 3 - 356 TT (1 stern, 2 beam)

Naval service: No significant events.
