Project history: Two MTBs of this class were ordered by Poland in Britain 24.1.1939, means for their building were collected on a subscription. Under the design they should have 2 533mm TTs, 1 single 40mm Bofors and two MGs. After beginning of war they were requisitioned by RN and completed as MGB47 and 48. Former before commission in October, 1940 was transferred to Polish Navy and renamed S1.
Modernizations: 1940, S1 Chart: - 1 x 2 - 12.7/62, 2 x 2 - 7.7/94; + 4 x 2 - 7.9/92
Naval service: 21.2.1944 S1 was laid up into reserve.
