Project history: Former USN LST type landing ships. T36-40 were transferred soon after war, LT54 and 57 became Filippine after the fall of South Vietnam, LT85-98 were transferred by South Korea and South Vietnam, 500s series was transferred by USN in 1976.

Modernizations: 1990s, most: - old radar; + SPS-64 radar, 4 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 10

Naval service: Sierra Madre  ran aground near Ayungin Shoal (Kalayaan Islands). Lanao del Norte ran aground near Pag-Asa Island (Kalayaan Islands) and abandoned. Benguet grounded 3.11.1999 on Scarborough Shoal in South Chinese Sea, later repaired.
