Project history: Former USN patrol PC1573 of 173ft type
was transferred the first in 1945 after service
under US flag.
In 1947-1968 Philippines received seven more ships of PC type from USA, and also
one more sister ship of former Cambodian fleet which have left from "red khmers"
in 1975 and was commissioned in 1976.
Modernizations: 1970s, all survived: new sensors consisted of SPN-18 radar, SQS-17B sonar
Naval service: Negros Oriental foundered off Guam 11.11.1962 during typhoon "Karen". She was raised and broken up in June, 1963. Nueva Viscaya was lost 13.11.1989 during typhoon at Cebu.
