Project history: USN destroyer escorts. Datu Kalantiaw transferred 15 December 1976, and sold on 31 August 1978; Datu Siratuna and Rajah Humabon served in Japanese Navy in 1955-75 and were transferred to Philippines in 1976 and purchased at scrap value, towed to S Korea in October 1978 for overhaul and modernization. Two more ships without new names were taken over from Korean deletion list and were probably cannibalized for spares for active units.

Modernizations: early 1990s, Rajah Humabon: - 1 x 24 - 178 Hedgehog ASWRL, 6 DCT, 2 DCR, Mk 26 radar, SQS-17B sonar; + 4 x 1 - 12.7/90

2000s, Rajah Humabon: - SPS-5, SPS-6C radars; + SPS-64 radar

Naval service: Datu Kalantiaw ran aground on 20 September 1981 in Typhoon 'Clara' on the northern shore of Calayan Island. Rajah Humabon was stricken in 1993 but restored to service in 1995 under new hull number.
