Project history: Ships transferred in 1948 were originally numbered E28-32. Last three ships were ex-South Vietnamese, escaped from Vietnam to Philippines in November 1975 and in April 1976 included to Philippine navy list.

Modernizations: 1970s, PS28-32: - 4 DCT; + 2 x 3 - 324 TT, new sensors consisted of CRM-NIA-75, SPN-18 radars, SQS-17B sonar

mid-1980s, all: - 2 x 3 - 324 TT, 1 x 24 - 178 Hedgehog ASWRL, 2 DCR, SQS-17B sonar

1990-1992, Miguel Malvar: - 4 x 2 - 20/70, SPS-21D, SPN-18 radars; + 1 x 2 - 40/60 Mk 1, 4 x 1 - 20/70 Mk 68, 4 x 1 - 12.7/90, 2x SPS-64 radars
