Project history:
Q112 was standard inter-war 55ft stepped-hull Thornycroft
MTB with aftward launch torpedo chutes. Wooden
hull. Q112 was ordered simultaneously with Q111 and was laid down
by Thornycroft this very day 15.4.1938. Boat was shipped to Philippines in March, 1939, becoming first
ship of Offshore patrol. On her sample since 1939 there
was begun building of these boats at Cavite on Philippines. In March, 1941 Filipinos completed
building of Q113, and in May, 1941 8 more boats were laid down, from which only two (Q114 and Q115)
were commissioned in early 1942 (probably, not fully completed).
Six incomplete boats were destroyed by Japanese aircraft on slipways during bombings in December, 1941.
Modernizations: None.
Naval service: As part of Offshore patrol Q112 was used for training.
