Project history: Unsuccessful design. General Emilio Aguinaldo was originally to have carried SSMs. Third craft was cancelled due to funding shortages. Three more planned units with 76mm/62 OTO-Melara and twin 25mm guns were planned but construction was also cancelled. Overloaded and underpowered design.

Modernizations: None.

Naval service: Both ships were stricken due to strong hull corrosion.
